Puzzles: "Brown Pelican" is the 3rd and most recent of the artist’s jigsaw puzzles based on Bock’s paintings. "Brown Pelican" ©2011, "Life on the Reef" ©2010 and "Majestic Sea Turtles" ©2009 were selected for their artistic merit and produced as jigsaw puzzles by Heritage Puzzles. The puzzles are sold in our online store, National Park Gift Shops, Art Galleries, Bookstores and Wildlife Sanctuaries throughout the USA as well as at Art & Frame in Davie, Florida. Both the original art work and the puzzles will be on display.
Fossils and Dinosaurs: Also on display are Bock’s recent paintings and mixed media creations of dinosaurs and fossils. The art work is a vibrant portrayal of life as early as 70 million BC. Based on the study of the geology and paleontology of South Florida, and beyond, the viewer is given a visual insight into what life was and what remains of it today. Two related dinosaur fossils are shown as well.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Born in Chicago, William Bock studied at Indiana University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He received his Masters of Fine Arts at the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore in 1987. Following graduation, he apprenticed at the Johnson Atelier in Princeton, NJ. While in Princeton, Bock exhibited his paintings and sculpture at AT&T, Bristol Meyer & Squibb, the Hillier Group, the Johnson Atelier, Merrill Lynch, the Nassau Club, and The Williams Gallery as well as the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
In 1994 Bock moved to South Florida to surround himself with the landscape that inspires his work. William Bock possesses an innovative style that revolves around his love of nature and exploration. Descended from a long line of artists, he is referenced in the Blue Book of American Artists. His murals and paintings enhance corporate collections, museums and the homes of private collectors throughout Florida, the United States and abroad.
