ABOUT THE ART: A dedication to art and to our environment permeates the
paintings and prints of William Bock. The exhibit offers a retrospective of the
artist’s work from the late 1960s to the present. Bock’s focus on nature is
evident. Earlier work portrays a fiercely expressionistic landscape of the
Northeast where his work was first exhibited. Recent paintings depict vivid and
precise depictions of Florida’s natural beauty of flora, fauna and marine life.
Born in Chicago, William Bock studied at Indiana University where he received
his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He received his Masters of Fine Arts at the
Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore in 1987. Following graduation, he
apprenticed at the Johnson Atelier in Princeton, NJ.
While in Princeton, he exhibited his paintings and sculpture at AT&T, the
Hillier Group, the Johnson Atelier, Merrill Lynch, the Nassau Club, and The
Williams Gallery as well as the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
Descended from a long line of artists, William Bock is referenced in the Blue
Book of American Artists. His award winning paintings are included in many
prestigious collections. Since moving his studio to Broward County he has shown
his work at The International Game Fishing Hall of Fame, Las Olas Art Center,
The Dcota, and other locations.
Bock’s murals and paintings enhance the homes of private collectors through the
United States and abroad.
