Over 50 paintings and prints will be featured along the 120 ft exhibition wall showcasing 15 years of the artist’s work. The show consists of the marine wildlife paintings, seascapes and tropical flora and fauna of renowned wildlife artist William Bradford Bock. The artist’s most recent painting "Kemp’s Ashore" will be featured at the exhibit. This striking 4' x 4' work depicts a Kemp’s ridley coming ashore to nest. The acrylic painting is hand embellished with gold, silver and copper leaf.
Inspires by the myriads of ocean creatures and moved by the threats to our waters, oceans and marine populations Mr. Bock says:
"The condition of our oceans is directly related to our quality of life"
Mr. Bock is active in his support of the Broward based National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation
whose exhibit on turtle populations and conservation can be viewed at the IGFA Museum.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Bock began his professional career at Indiana University, followed by an apprenticeship at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute and School of Sculpture in New Jersey. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD in 1987. In 1994 he moved to South Florida to surround himself with the tropical land and seascape that inspires his work.. He possesses an innovative style that revolves around his love of nature and the ocean. A NAUI and PADI certified SCUBA diver since the age of 16 Bock has exhibited extensively throughout the US and has participated in several museum exhibition. He has won numerous awards for his painting and his work is included in many prestigious collections including, Allstate, AT&T Corp., Bristol Myers Squibb, Merrill Lynch, The National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation, the US Embassy, Bahamas and most recently the IGFA Museum.
