McPherson Center 705 Front Street Santa Cruz, CA 95060 In 1996 Santa Cruz County merged its art and history museums and the MAH was formed. The museum offers rotating shows in four galleries, an education program, a historical archive, and a museum store. Current exhibitions include "Watermark" an exhibition of works by members of the National Watercolor Society, and "Picks, Plows, and Potatoes", a historical look at Santa Cruz in the days of the California Gold Rush. The museum is a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Pacific avenue, and is a great place to spend an afternoon before dining or shopping in the vital Santa Cruz city center.
