Carmen Leon
Carmen Leon paints dreamlike scenes on large canvases.
Carmen's work contains narrative themes, mythology references, and
elements derived from her cultural heritage. Her bold use of outline,
and flattened regions of color resemble the work of Paul Cezanne. The self
portrait above has a realistic theme, but a divine presence is hinted at
in the form of a cherub in the painting's upper right, and the madonna-like
qualities of the figure.

Carmen Leon's paintings reflect both the real and the magical.
Her palette combines a naturalistic range of color with the vibrant palette
of latin painters and muralists.
